Make the 3bet preflop a bit bigger and it's fine.
Also buy in full unless your bankroll is too small, and if it is you should probably still be on NL2. |

I think buying in for 100bb is fine if you are just starting out / just moved up, also allows you to move up faster etc.
Anyway, going broke with AA on a Queen high rag flop in a 3bet pot is more or less never a mistake. But make your raise like.. .40 or maybe even more.

If you have an edge, the more you buy in for the more you make. Buying in shorter than you can is a damage control measure. When I was underrolled at NL2 I bought in for 100BBs, but as soon as I could I started buying in full. Playing deep is different, since it changes implied odds. But players on NL2 and NL5 are so bad that you can just sit full-stacked and not really worry about it since your edge should be huge if you know how to play decent basic poker. |
