I'm not saying its the "optimal" play to check on the turn, but it is far from "horrible"...i mean if he was floating, the check on the turn gives him a chance to hang himself and with the pot so large anyway, hero can still shove the river...if villain has a hand like Q 10, it is a much easier call for him to make on the river than on the turn, same goes for KJ etc...

god think things through before commenting on someones play, theres no set formula or set action for every situation....
