you can avoid it by not reraising jj from the blinds.. reraising from blinds => big pots oop. the types of hands you tolerate big pots with even when oop are either ones you dont mind going broke with (AA KK, maybe a couple other premiums next down the list, so reraising for value with these) or ones you'll get away cheap from when you dont flop big (sooted conn/1gapper, for 'resteal' reraising against laggy light raisers who frequently open from LP to steal blinds)
when i first read the hand, when villain calls flop i thoguht: "uh oh hes gotta be fucked.. even if he tries to shut down and check call he still has to get all in unless villain sucks and misses value with gay small bets"
then i see you push turn, and was like "lol wtf if he beats 88/99/TT he has no idea how lucky he got and this is probably a dumb brag hand... nope its a set, this is why reraising from oop with medium strength hard-to-get-away-from hands is bad". |

pushing the turn was probably a stupid idea but i knew any other bet or check/calling would get me all in anyway by the river unless an ace came in which case i probably would still be pot comitted anyway but i figured by pushing on the turn if he has a straight draw or TT/99 or maybe even two high cards, i have fold equity, it seemed better than betting half pot and then pushing the river or even check/calling and inevitably getting stacked anyway
but yeah i guess you're right but i figured it'd be okay in 6-max to play jacks much stronger even out of position
