ok here's how it worked ok defender the guy behind me was a HUGE fucking fish, he had been calling people on bottom pair all day, minbetting all the time minraising and there was this one hand where he built his $100 stack when he called me with 78 and i had AA on the turn and he sucked out with trips, so i knew i'd stack him eventually but basically he was a hugeass calling station

so on the flop when i raise to 7.50 and and buck spin coldcalls from the blinds that's pretty alarming because he's a pretty solidish player (i knew that defend had garbage because he always does otherwise he'd minreraise), so i thought he had something like TT-QQ. when the flop comes 29T and i bet out when defend coldcalled i knew he had either a 9 or a T probably with a nice kicker and was going to play for his stack if he had a T because he's a huge fucking fish. when buck fish pushes all in i think that it's a coinflip between him winning the main pot with TTT or him having JJ/QQ here, and i KNOW since defend coldcalled 15 on the flop he is going to call this raise, so the times he has TTT i can make profit off of the rest of defend's money probably no matter what the turn is, and when he has JJ/QQ i win the hand. so i call the raise so as not to push out defend because i know i have him raped. then i just push the turn because i know he'll call with a ten and turns out he had QQ/JJ and i won the whole thing :D

yeah the chat was probably stupid but i was on tilt because i had just lost 3 buyins recently so i was kind of tilted up and pissed that he might've sucked me out with TTT, but i knew it wouldn't have effected defend's decision (well, pretty sure) and it ended up not doing so anyway but yeah it probably wasn't a good idea

if he's such a fucking fish, he'll call your flop all-in?

Moloch   United States. May 30 2006 09:13. Posts 6144

no i think there was probably a 60 or 70% chance he'd fold if i pushed over the top of him on the flop but when the turn comes i know he has too much of his stack in there to fold

ok, if turn was a T, 9, Q, K, do you still push?

Moloch   United States. May 30 2006 09:15. Posts 6144

yes

i think i played this hand perfectly except for the chat

i think pushing over defend on the flop is not a good play because this is when i WANT to be playing with the deepstack donkey; when i got aces on a relatively dry board and i know i have him raped. calling the flop knowing he'll call because he feels pot comitted since the raise was not huge compared to the bet or pot and he might even think his hand is good, the best way to get his stack into the middle is to flatcall the flop and then push the turn. this is my chance to break him, i don't want to risk him folding the flop by pushing over the top for his whole stack there; trying to win an extra buyin from a dumbass when i have aces i think is the best way to look at it.

with this fish, if you get it in on flop, he would have called also. i mean he called 60 on the turn. Also, this is not a dry board, there are very scary cards that can come for you on the turn. I think flop push is way better.

i'd like to know what people think about this on the pro/con between pushing the flop and calling flop and pushing turn

i think playing deepstacked against an idiot it's best to get the money in slowly when i know he's ready to donk it all away
