I dont think ive ever seen an easier or better opportunity to fold aces on a flop.

Imo you should probably move down till you can make these folds.

Why the hell would you call!?!?!?!

DaEm0niCuS   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:39. Posts 3292

what advice is there to give, guy bets 12 (could have anything, id probably think overpair or 8) then guy min raises on a board with no draws at all(min raise is the most obvious strong hand read on the planet from a donkey, not to mention he did it on a pot sized bet = 100% strong hand). Then you call and the guy who pot bet pushs against this huge show of strength on a board with no draws the 2nd guy calls and your like OHHHH I MUST BE AHEAD ILL CALL CAUSE I HAVE THE INVINCIBLE AA.

I dont often say mean shit but at a certain level of completely bad play I tend to say something a bit mean.

easy fold on the flop, no need to lose more then 4$ on this hand.

Three raises in front of you in a $13 pot. I don't understand your logic in calling.

DaEm0niCuS   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:41. Posts 3292

lol, pooruser I know but was I really that mean? And im sure you agree with what I said.

PoorUser    United States. Jun 05 2006 22:41. Posts 7471

You should raise to 8 or 9 preflop. Thatd be fun.

Is it correct to say that he has a roughly 20% chance to be outflopped in a 3-way pot against 2 pocket pairs?

wasnt really focusing on the short stack, thought i had the big stack but didnt realize until it was too late so i thought id break even by taking the side pot (large stack could have easily had QQ or KK)

im sure u have made plenty of stupid calls, just never posted them. so no need to rub it in. i realize it was a foolish call, just wasnt thinking str8

SO DONT BE AN ASSHOLE

crispy4505   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:51. Posts 509

y would i raise 8-9 preflop?

crispy4505   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:51. Posts 509

i think thats a worse move than me calling on the flop

nomanirvana   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:52. Posts 2523

You should raise to 10 preflop then, because they will consider it "set odds" if they use the 10th of your stack rule, and that way you get more money in with your aces.

nomanirvana   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:53. Posts 2523

You have the best possible starting hand, you want as much money in the pot as possible before the flop, so if they are willing to each call 10 preflop then thats what you should raise.

DaEm0niCuS   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:53. Posts 3292

Alright then, everyone does stupid shit now and then as long as this doesnt happen often its fine.

crispy4505   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:54. Posts 509

no one will call 9 pf at a 100 nl table

nomanirvana   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:55. Posts 2523

How do you know if youve never done it? They will call if they think they have set odds which 10 dollars will give them.

crispy4505   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:57. Posts 509

i raise to 6 and 7 numerous times and barely get a caller

nomanirvana   United States. Jun 05 2006 22:58. Posts 2523

The point is, you dont want two EP limpers to call youre raise if this is how you play AA on the flop. You are going to lose a stack 1/4th of the time atleast.

Moloch   United States. Jun 05 2006 23:24. Posts 6144

raise to 6 pf not to 9 nomi you're a retard, if you play aces every time thinking "i hope i don't get stacked by a set!!" then you're playing them horribly wrong

thats hardly the point I was making, I said that IF you are going to play them on the flop like this, you are just gonna run into sets therefore you should get more money in the pot preflop when you have the absolute nuts. Its a very simple mathematical concept, more money preflop with Aces is always good. When oyou play them this way you give those two preflop limpers great IMPLIED set odds, why would you want to do that? If they are willing to call 10 its a mathematical fact that you should raise to 10, if you are arguing with that you just cant deviate from the standard.

All im talking about is getting them to commit more money to the pot when they are huge underdogs. Its simple poker math. If they are willing to call 9 or 10 (which they might if they go by the set odds theory) then you should raise 9 or 10.
