there is a light at the end of the tunnel... (but sometimes the tunnel is long and deep as hell) | |

that would be quite an impressive laydown, especially considering the likelyhood of AQ or even a worse A |

lol this is such an obvious fold, you are totally raped on this board. think about it.
3 people all in, 2 aces on the board. first of all, if somebody has the other ace and called a raise he could've easily flopped a boat or boated up on the turn. when 3 people are all in and there are 2 aces left in the deck SOMEBODY has to have a full house already, so just pitch your AK
i really hate how you played this btw, checkraising the flop really weak and then leading that terrible turn, at which point only ace you beat is AQ
but then again i suck at poker so don't take me seriously |

its not an obvious fold i dont think.. youd be surprised (well you probably wouldnt) with the crap that can turn up at the showdown
but i agree with your criticism of his play |

this is an extremely obvious fold because there are 2 players in front of you all in meaning probably one of them has an ace and one of them therefore has something better than trip aces. you cannot possibly call.
that's as simple as i can put it.
if you had KQ here this would be worth even discussing. |

He only had $16 in the pot when the all-in marathon circled around, this is a fairly cut-and-dry fold I think.
There aren't enough hands he'll beat here to justify calling into a three-way all-in. His trips are about as good here as TPTK is on an unpaired board, it's just not a hand you wanna bet it all with. Not unless it's two-way action, and not unless the villain is a shortstacked soccermom.
Just as bad as the call, though, is the check-raise on the flop. I think a good general rule of thumb is never check-raise in a multiway pot unless both of your hole cards are connecting with the board and playing bigger roles than 'kicker.'
The hand on the flop just isn't monster enough. And if you are going to check-raise with it, you have to raise a hell of a lot more than $3. Look at how much money is in the pot already. You're giving them both odds to draw to a hand that'll beat what they know you're holding. |
