He'd 3bet me about 5 times throughout the session - he'd folded to a 4bet once. I'd folded 3 times. I'd called him once, check/called a 2/3 bet on a T high flop, turn went ch/ch, and I took it with a river bet (still T high). Then this hand came up. I'm not sure if it is spewy or what. I figured JJ was fine to 4bet shove with vs someone who'd been 3betting me a lot, but I'm not sure.

your information says nothing about position. Yes, he may have 3 bet your button or CO raises, but has he EVER 3 bet your utg raise? There are all different types of 'getting out of line' and it is standard in poker that one wrongly assumes that getting out of line in one area means that the opponent is going to be getting out of line in another area. just because he 3 bets you doesn't mean he may 100% respect your utg raises.

bravo rob, great point.... I didn't even realize I was UTG this hand.... wow

mostly he'd done it on the button vs my CO raises. stupid me. now this looks much worse than I originally thought cause he did seem good enough to slow down vs my UTG raises, and had never messed with them before.

thanks rob for pointing that out... haha I swear I miss such obvious shit sometimes =(
