check dude, your hand is not vulrenable, you can play bluff catcher / value town turn or river (or both) if he checks again on the turn
generaelly the reason behind betting is for value or protection, (or bluff, but this is clearly not a bluff) obviously your hand does not require protection - so do you think you are getting value from him by betting this flop? Generally when you bet for value here on the flop getting it in here would not be unreasonable because you beleive there is value in doing so* which is consistant with your flop bet

yea maybe, I just figured that he could have a flushdraw or something like 55 that could get stubborn. I do like your advice though, somewhat of en semi-eye opener
