obv a bad beat
but with these hands against calling stations who are willing to stack off with top pair, I sometimes consider to call and wait for the turn (sort of option to delay in option theory). With a blank he is still willing to stack and with the J that came, you can lay down.
Drawback of this option to delay is that you of course give a free card, which gives him the chance to get two pair. But still I think that just calling and pushing on turn with this kind of opponents has its advantages over pushing flop, although your play is obvious +EV. |
