that wasnt the point, the point I was making was that deepstack poker changes implied odds and therefore it can change the relationship between stack size and preflop raising size

Its really simple. Say you are playing 25nl and you have 50 and someone else has 50 and he raises to 4 dollars and you put him on AA, you have pocket 8s or something. You call for set odds if you know you can stack him when you hit. You cant call that 4 if you both have 25. Same fuckin thing on a larger scale, except its not necessarily "set odds" its odds to flop any fuckin thing that will allow you to stack him eventually. If the BB / stack ratio is tiny enough then you can just call every fuckin time and wait till you hit quads if it means you can stack him.

I know, the same thing applies to set odds. You arent gauranteed to stack someone when you hit a set, its just a mathematical tool that we use and it works because the implied odds are there. The same tools apply in deepstack poker just on a different scale - to stack someone with like 1000xBB (or atleast take a ton of money off them) they are going to have to really really like their hand and you just need a slightly better one. The keyword is "eventually".
