Why didnt you bet the turn? Youre kinda giving yourself a choice to fold to a large river bet yet you called anyway? Your thoughts?

why didn't you bet the turn... if he reraises you, you KNOW he has a flush, if he doesn't he'll fold, if he flat calls you can probably check behind on river? what if he has one spade and river brings 4th spade?

people check call with flushes
i was pretty sure he had a flush
i checked behind to minimize size of pot
i didnt care if the river came spade, it was a 1 out of 5 shot anyway

cause i was getting 3:1
only had to be right 1 out of 4
i thought he might have had 88 or a 9 there
but i was pretty sure he had a flush

because its 15 bucks for 42 dollars So if he makes this call 4 times, and wins once, he makes money. You can't always guess what your opponent has. Now, if this scrub had bet the pot or 2/3 of the pot, then Bigballs probably would have had to lay it down, but then its more questionable. A perfect play i would say.
