you are out of position and there is no worse hand that will pay you off if you hit top pair.

think about if, unless he raised with QJ or KT, if you hit top pair and you both end up all-in, if you hit kings he can only have KQ, AK, AA, KK, or if you hit a pair of jacks, AJ, JJ+

just dont call, it seems like such a waste i know that you got two suited face cards and face cards are big and strong and wow, but just fold it and you will be a lot better off.

KJ is a hugely dominated hand, but if i were to play KJs to a raise it would be solely as a drawing hand (and various 2pair/trips potential etc), and it'd have to be in position and to a smaller raise, preferably multiway too

KcQc, Good enuf to call the extra 90 in that situation?

that's very marginal, you can call or fold with KQs i think. if he is a very loose player, then definitely call, but if you haven't noticed him getting out of line or it's his first raise in a while, folding is the conservative but obviously safest play.

and plus, considering that if you are a new player your postflop skills are not very good, so you may end up going broke with top pair when your opponent is clearly giving signs that he has a better hand, which is why it's normally a good idea for weaker players or learning players not to call raises with dominated hands like KQ, KJ, AJ, etc.

if the position of teh raiser was later though, the call would be much better, because position is highly dependent on the raising range of the preflop raiser. you can't raise a hand like AT UTG (under the gun, the first person to act preflop), but you can definitely raise it in the cutoff, and so if somebody raises in that early position, i would usually go the conservative route and give him credit for a big hand and fold my KQs OOP. plus, his raise was big - 5bb is a lot to call.
