You have to realize, the toughest person to beat at your table, is the one sitting in your seat.

or you're stacking him on the turn or making a big enough bet that river doesnt even matter

what if river was a ten or another spade, then you lose crazy value

or I had a read and notes that he was a guy who is incapable of laying down a set, i've sat at this table with him for 2 hours. When you guys realize that factoring in my table image and the fact that he is a station, you'll realize that my play was right. Not to mention I know i'm stacking him regardless unless the river pairs the board, so why wouldn't I just check behind on the turn to make sure I have the nuts when I put him all in. You guys need to start thinking outside the box.

if he is incapable of laying down the set why not bet turn? you mean he IS capable of laying down the set on the turn?

if I put him in on the turn, there is still hance I can get sucked out on and lose a big pot (like what happened). If I know he's callign me down regardles, why not check the behind the turn and be sure that I have the nuts when the river doesn' improve him. All i'm doing is decreasing the chance that I get stacked if he fills up.

I think this is bad logic. If he is willing to be all-in on the turn theres no reason not to push it, thats better EV than checking behind and increasing the chance of either (1) suckout or (2) killing action. You may lose a big pot but 80% of the time you WIN a big pot. On the turn he is a very big underdog, and if he is willing to be all-in there thats always the best play. Just because you can get sucked out anyway doesnt mean you shouldnt get the money in with the best percentage.

checking the turn makes sense if he IS capable of folding the set and you get more value on river, but you want to bet if hes willing to pay $$$ to boat up...it all depends but if hes going all in on the turn whats the question, seems obvious to put him in there

lol =[

you can't make money if you don't bet, this hand should be allin on the turn.

what kind of logic is that (if I bet turn I can get sucked out). If you make the correct play and you force him to make a mistake, you gain. Fundamental Theorem of Poker anyone? You're just decreasing variance here and doing -EV stuff.

Pot that turn.
