I know that this type of hand gets posted alot, but is calling/folding a good idea to his re-raise?

I think calling/folding is reasonable here unless you take him for a habitual bluffer. If there was no flush draw on the board I'd lean more towards folding.

I mean what is the distribution of hands that he does this with?

For the following discussion I'll assume that you bet harder than you actually did on the flop. You gotta bet at least 15 to be taken seriously.

AA KK(we'll discount) QQ JJ TT 88, or a bluff.

If we coun't the bluff as one hand (probably giving it more weight that it deserves) You are beating only a little over half the hands that make this move. So a call seems reasonable. I wouldn't raise though.
