I don't mind betting the turn if hes 60/16 or whatever, because you can expect two streets of value from a jack, but when you check to him on river, what kind of busted draw do you expect to have? The answer is, there are no draws. This board is as draw less as they come. After you bet the turn and he calls it's obvious he has an ace. If he doesn't, then great, he's going to check behind the river with a Jack and lose.
But when he bets on the river, it's so obvious he has at least an ace here, especially since the bet is so small, it wants to get called. This is the stupidest board to float TWICE (for decent sized bets mind you) with air. If board was 6689 i can see him floating with air/overs but NOT THIS BOARD. FOLD RIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't pay off calling stations like this!!! Just look at this hand from a broad view. Is QQ worth 3 streets of value on this board? It's worth one street of value at best, but since hes terrible, we can sometimes get 2 streets, (tho were beat a good amount of time, is still profitable to bet turn since if we check, he can bluff us out of the pot)
I like that you bet the turn, good thinking, but you can't SPEW like that on the river. Let's just say that he can't even have air here. Since literally, what is he going to float with two streets here with? KQ? There aren't even back door flush draws..
There is absolutely no hand that makes sense that he would bet like this on the river that you have beat.
edit: also, the A8 is completely irrelevant. He's a bad player, so what? Doesn't justify the river call. Odds don't matter either. you're beat like 100% of time in this spot. |
