i think you played this fine except that you didnt bet the flop
if you raise suited connectors from early positions, its so that you can flop a draw |

actually, now that i think about it, that river bet sucks. when you raise a suited connector from early position, its to disguise your hand when you hit a draw and therefore have bigge rimplied odds and fold equity. flatcalling the turn is correct because the board is paired and he could have a boat there, but when he checks the river the best play is not to value bet 1/3 pot which makes it evident that you have a very strong hands that knows that the river weakened his hand, but to make a pot sized bet tha tmakes it clear what you're representing. when he sees you're openly representing the seven with a potsized bet on the river, he may feel "he raised from early position, how can he have a seven here? this makes no sense, i'm calling here with my pocket 9's" or whatever, and you'll catch him
the way you play this i think you rarely get paid on the river making that bet and its better good for your image i think when he folds to a potsized bet |

Nah, I wont ever raise this flop unless I know he doesnt have trips for sure.
If I get reraised with trips here on flop I'm totally screwed. |

actually I'd bet this flop hopin he has trips and I'd call the raise and push the turn if I hit if I don't hit the turn then I'd fold easily. specially since both of you guys are ultra deep I think that was your best play there. |

Since you are not drawing to the nuts you don't want to play for (deep)stacks. Checking flop behind is a great way to control pot size. Turn i like, river bet is fishy. 1/3pot seems weird... |
