he has either something like AQ looking to get it in on a safe turn or something like AJ given pot odds / combinations due to J elimination your odds are too good*

Also
theres nothing wrong with checking the turn, there are basically no bad rivers for your hand, T/K are preety solid rivers for you really only 2 bad cards are 8/A which wont come 85%+ of time
