I thought the question was whether we should be calling or shoving river. |

well maybe 18/15 now that i see him folding many cards, like i said i didn't have pt nor hem. My guts told me that he really had pocket queens, and i know it but wanted to see it though |

Not losing a bi on this board should be considered a crime. |

then fold...
anyway, the times you have his range crushed you lose tons of value playing like this. you should implement some basic valuebet valuebet valuebet in your thoughtprocess and you'll probably end up winning a lot more. |

reminds me of this hand i played today
http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=567380
in my heart i knew he had an overset but i had to see it
lucky i did :D
u cant put him on a set here always, or ur going to be pushed off ur hands way too easily. 3bet pots amplify overpairs sooo soo much, like in a 3bet pot an overpair is like the NUTS man seriously.
so if ur in a 3b pot with an overpair, dont every worry too much about lower cards coming that might give ur opponent a set, worry more about whether its very likely he has a higher overpair, or if the board spells trouble for u since his tight calling range has hit X number of 2pairs, sets, straights, shit like that. then u can maybe consider folding an overpair even in a 3b pot. stats justify this stuff tho so if ur playing blind ur best bet is to normally get it in since u stuck in so much moneys in preflop, which amps up or overpair, which means get it in |

i think you are very justified in your gut feeling that you are beat on the river
that said, i think you played this hand perfectly to extract maximum value from worse hands. its kinda odd that he's overbetting though, which would be a great case for just flatting instead of shoving.
vwp imo |

What sort of worse hands will give more action with this line that wouldn't if we bet flop and try to get it in by river as opposed to the value we lose vs AQ JJ if we give them free cards and/or JJ folds river, AK hits the A etc.? |
