Actually, this is a pretty common drawing move by Lecolon at these limits. They bet the minimum and hope for passive play by the rest of the players. I've used it myself some times to get cheap cards. The short stack knows that if he checks, the original raiser probably makes an expensive continuation bet, so it's like a defensive bet representing a small pair. If the original raiser had high cards, he won't fight the short stack with just overcards, because short stacks are completely happy pushing with top pair. I usually reraise these minibets by 1$ or more. These minibets either mean monster or draw in my experience. And if he had a monster like 99 he would have checked-raised. So you're only making money off zoso if he had high pockets, therefore I would be perfectly content raising and taking the pot on the flop. |
