unless AmPHisbaenA is a 9/5 rock, in which case I fold pre

i have him at 13/11
dont know about him, but just know that tags with stats like those are capable of 3betting co open from btn a wider range than AK/AA/KK which is what you're saying right? Definitely add in JJ/QQ AK/AQ/AJ/JT/possibly some more sc / suited aces

so folding pf i think is a leak

But yeah if you have him at 9/5 i definitely fold pf as well.

also produca is 17/11 reg. so definitely capable of being an easy target for a 3bet from a TAG... like 13/11

The reason I 4bet here is that because both their ranges are pretty damn wide if they defend somewhat decently, which means I can do it as a bluff as well. Also, cold calling a 3bet shows just as much strength if not more then 4betting, and also allows them to take a flop.

Syntax   United States. Dec 02 2008 19:14. Posts 4415

this is true, however, if you 4bet you're essentially folding out anything you beat and only getting action from hands that have you crushed or a flip (AK)

him and I have no history together, so unless he's completely crazy (which doesn't seem to be the case judging from what i've seen so far) he's not 5bet shoving AQ/JJ here nearly enough to 4bet.

I am sacrificing equity by calling out of position and letting them see a flop, but i have the chance to win more by outplaying them rather than when i 4bet and shut all doors to let the hand play itself, which is, they fold or they shove (and i have to always call - odds/range)

you gotta be confident in your post flop skills though. usually 4betting is good if you're bad postflop i guess. youre just not optimizing value...

i was like 80% sure i was good here :/

Uh, I'm pretty confident in my postflop play. It's just that I don't see the neccesity of getting myself in tough spots oop when I can put them in tough spots instead pf. If you have no history yet, you have to start somewhere.

Don't understand the lol. When you flat the 3bet oop your range is so incredibly defined as JJ+ that he should be able to play perfectly against you. I mean, what other hands do you flat a 3bet with here oop? I think 4betting here actually increases your range in villain's eyes, or at least it should.

I almost wanna fold pre. FR against a raise and reraise from a 17/11 and 13/11?
