Yeah, this is bad.

On the turn there is very few hands that you beat on the flop which you beat now.

Hands like 8x already had you beat (unless they're like 85 or something)
Overpairs obv already had you beat (ie99 is possible)
I'd expect to see 22 66 here quite a bit too
Also most obviously the flush got there on the turn as well

The only actual 'hands' you beat are 57 79 (although if they have a heart they are in great shape against you on the turn) and something like A6s or 76s which is possible but unlikely.

Yes he got there with a double gut and you got kinda 'unlucky' but not really. I don't think you should call on the flop, reverse implied odds and all that unless you have a reason to do so.
