I think the advantage of c/r is to make him a (semi) bluff and gain an extra bet.
On the other hand, a tens would be also a good hand for villain to make a move on you, even if you bet (although I doubt this occurs often on 10NL.
The disadvantage of c/r is that you play your hand face up. He may call 2 streets with 9x, 88/77/66/JJ/QQ, but fold these hands to a c/r.
I think that a thinking players would not have stacked off with qq after your c/r.
If he has a 10 or a lower boat, It doesnt care of course.
