Cooler or a hand I should have gotten away from?
Villian loved to see flops: 95/17 with a 45% flop C-bet. He wasn't a calling station though. He'd fold to C-bets without a good hand, but I still figured he'd call me here with a naked ace, QT, diamond draw. |

How big of sample for the 95/17 and 45% cbet? Even with that, he'd probably have to be a total spazz lunatic on all streets to justify your turn push.
If you're going to raise the flop you have to do it a little bigger. Whether the flop raise is good or not just depends on game flow. Against a relatively solid player I think flat-calling the flop bet is almost always bad, but depending on his aggression on later streets and your image it might be viable.
On turn I would probably flat-call, because a) you can fill up and b) there's a decent chance he'll slow down with a worse hand. And probably fold to any significant river bet if you don't boat up. |

Ok thanks. I wasn't even considering a turn call because of the bad pot odds, and even with implied odds he only has $5.70 left in his stack if I hit. I don't see why he'd fold on the river to a bet that he would call on the turn. The odds of him hitting a flush draw seemed a lot better than my odds of hitting the boat, and I wanted to get it in ahead of him if that was the case. If I had him beat, I didn't want to give him an easy fold on the river if he missed his hand.
The stats are over 116 hands and weren't changing much over that period. Solid players don't donk bet under half the pot, and this guy seemed to be playing very poorly. Leveled me here though! |
