Should I have raised the turn? I couldn't think of a better way to play it. I knew he had kigns or aces with his weak ass turn bet, but I didn't want to represent the queen. Is there a better way to play this?

lead out on the flop, maybe 2/3 or 3/4 pot

overpair reraises this flop like 90% of the time, so he'll reraise, you flat call and checkraise turn (the pot is bigger so you'll be taking the majority of his stack)

since you know he has AA KK, 9, J, Q, T, A/K (depending) are all scare cards for him, so you want him to commit as many chips as possible as early as possible

Ok thx. I shoulda bet the flop. I was gonna make my move on the turn when a blank turned up, but that queen really didn't help me and my plan.

yeah thats another reason why slowplay sucks, aside from keeping the pot small and having no deception when you start to raise...

sometimes a scare card will make a hand that normally would pay you off be careful... like if you have 33 on a perfect J43 flop vs an overpair, and the turn comes a J, and he just shuts down

or vs overpair if you have TT flop T44 (2 clubs) and club comes turn
or vs overpair if a 4 straight shows, etc

you play like 1c2c, if anything thats even more reason to bet out with huge hands because they will pay you off with K8o top pair
