defaulter   United States. Feb 02 2009 20:30. Posts 4 I'm never really sure what to do with these mid pocket pairs in early position. Obviously I call strait up against Mosky here. But, I was worried about Dan with a big stack behind me. Should push to isolate against Mosky? or call and hope Dan folds anways?

FeARFaCT   United States. Feb 02 2009 20:53. Posts 496 If Dan wasn't in the hand then I would likely call here, depending on how loose or tight mosky is. If he is barely playing any hands then it is perfectly fine to just fold. If he has been mixing it up a bit then I would definitely call. Really 99 is just a coin flip vs most of his likely shoving range, and (if Dan wasn't in the hand) this would be roughly a $1.75 call to win a $2.70 pot.. so yea it's a call. Having Dan to act behind you (who is a full stack) complicates the hand more. You don't want to just call here and play a flop out of position vs. dan. He could also have a hand that he decides to shove with after you just call. The options here are really either push or fold. Pushing is really unnecessary though since as we said earlier, our hand is probably a coin flip vs mosky.. so it's really not worth shoving an entire stack for a marginal spot. I'd be more inclined to shove TT here, but definitely stack off with JJ+ and AK. FeARFaCT.net
