i woulda put him on a spade draw, but still pushing the river will only get called by hands that beat you, such as A5, clubs, JJ, etc. |

If anything i'd probably check/call this river...
Obviously the guy's an idiot but he coulda had 65, A5, 22, 99. You're betting to push out the draw you think hes on. It didnt hit, no need to overplay your hand. |

one thing i've learned playing online with its SHEER volume of players and wide spectrum of skill level is that you have to try your damndest not to make judgment based decisions/reads. plays that come from thoughts like "oh hes a fish he can't have anything good" or "he's a donkey he'll call with anything" are often the wrong play. it's poker, even the dumbest bloke can sit down and be dealt AA. |

Sure but Ive won a lot doing plays like these because of donkeys, and sometimes they of course have better hand than me =(
This particular move might wasnt too smart I guess since there was flushdraw + board was paired, a little bit too much for even donks to call with worse hand perhaps tt |

this is a hard situation, pot is roughly $50, he has $69 left, if you check to him and he pushes what do you do? he could just be attempting to steal the pot after missing his spade flush draw. if you bet out on the river and he pushes you commit yourself to calling.
i am curious as to how one of the better NL players would play this |
