- I had no history with this player, but wanted him to call with AA so I didnt raise as much as I normally would pre. I didnt like the flop and didnt think he knew how good I was, so I pushed .

Raising less is only ok because he doesn't have a full stack. I'd still do at least a 3x reraise here though. You're stacking off on the flop all day regardless of stats.
He calls a 3b (even tho it's a small 3b) so he likely has a pair or big cards here. If he has 99 or 8x then he wins, but he's more likely to have TT+ or MAYBE something like JT or AKs, so yea we stack off 100% of the time here. Making a larger 3b helps us narrow his range down in spots like these, so need to go more vs full stack. We really don't care much against a half stack tho just get it in. |
