That makes it even more important to re-raise preflop. He calls a re-raise with K9o and you have KK? Thats a dream situation.

It doesnt matter that you still would have lost. All that matters is that you get the maximum amount of money into the pot when you have a better chance to win at showdown than your opponent does, once you understand this your game will improve vastly.
