- this guy was a bit nuts (37 hands, 49/41), so I knew I was best pre. I still also thought I was good post flop, so I just didnt feel as though I could fold to his all-in.

If he's that nuts then the math usually works out here for calling with your overs. His donk bet is weak so I'd probably play it exactly as you did. If he had more behind on his flop shove tho you'd have to fold, but calling 5.90 is fine.
