this seems like a very bad fold. This could easily be QQ/KK afraid of a 4th heart.

you're happy with this fold?
well you shouldn't

why exactly is this a horrible fold?

qwerty67890   New Zealand. Mar 23 2009 11:03. Posts 14026

because it seems perfectly logical to me

auffenpuffer   Finland. Mar 23 2009 11:05. Posts 1429

well unless you have a very strong player specific read its bad because he is going to shove all kind of crap as well as getting it in for value with weaker (like TT+ easily)

he snap called my flop bet

if he has an overpair and shoved becuase he was afraid of the a 4th heart youd think hed be as scared for a 3rd heart so i think hed jam the flop

its possible he snap called and bluffed the turn

I still dont think anyones given me a good reason why this fold was so terrible

ToTehEastSide   United States. Mar 23 2009 11:13. Posts 1337

because flushes don't come that often

I think his location was Hungary, actually. (Judging by the username at least).

Not that it matters I guess.

My favourite line is Bet/Fold. I bet, you fold.

no if I had KK I wouldnt be afraid of third heart. To be honest Id be happy to see it because often people who catch a flushdraw go on bluffing. I would however be afraid of giving free card there.

Also he might think: "oh its TT, well if I ship flop he just folds everything I beat so maybe I koal, oh now I have to shove turn so he wont suckout?"

ugh, he can have a wide variety of crap here, terrible fold considering the effective stacks, he has less then a psb left just put him in and see him call with any pair+fd, overpairs and something stupid like AQ,AK one heart that floated the flop.

qwerty67890   New Zealand. Mar 23 2009 11:33. Posts 14026

If he had KK hed get it in pre-flop

if he had TT or JJ or QQ and called me pre-flop but if he had called with the intention of getting it in on a low board i dont see why he wouldnt put it in on the flop.

If he had AQ/AKhh i think he snap calls the flop and ships whatevers left in on the turn when he hits figuring ill never give up my overpair or he just gives up if he bricks

Or he raised from first position with nothing and bluffed me off it.

or some other random combination.

But i still think most of the time he holds something which has me beat going to the river.

he can have ALL kinds of crap

you have aces in a 3bet pot on a raggy board, this is beyond terrible

your logical reasons behind the fold is bad because you assume villain plays logic. here is the truth: they don't.

you played it fine until river. now get it in. if he called down with heartdraw, that sucks. but remember everytime he checks back here with a hand like ThTx you lose value. Yes in this case you MIGHT have had the worst case, but poker is all about ranges, and you should get it in 100 % on turn.
