theres no reason not to raise the turn here, the only hand he beats you with is 89. TT QQ JJ & AK aren't likely to be limp/calling pre and you're just letting him hit alot of rivers, or get scared on alot of rivers.
As played, well ul i suppose its close as to raising the river and close as to whether to call the shove but its ok i guess. |

yeah i called turn cos i wanted to give him chance to bet again with worse hand. river call would be ideal in this spot i guess. |

Everything i say under here is assuming that we don't know that he boats up on the river or even what his hand is.
Yeah I get that on the turn call, problem is its not a great spot for him to river bluff really (when it does blank), also alot of spades/8/s 9's (and 2p's) are in his range so we're not comfortable raising alot of rivers, and we're showing at least a good pair(or a big draw which will slow him down on alot of rivers where we are still ahead) when we call his turn bet on this kind of board.
I get that if we play it my way and raise the turn we're still going broke on the river (obviously), problably practically shipping or shipping if he checks to us on the river and snap calling a shove, it's just he doesn't hit his 4 outs that often. |

raise turn is definitely valid option here, like u said - not ideal spot for slowplay (strait/flush draws) |
