That or your image reflected you'd been bluffing with weak hands and this dude was going to play you to the river with a pair of 7's. You bet 30$ on the turn, and you'd been re-raising on the flop. He shoves all-in. What the heck makes you think he's scared of a set of 4's at this point?' This isn't always a fold, and it depends on the opponent + read, but you've got to do a little more thinking and I think it's clear you didn't apply any theory of poker here at all.
