if raising the turn is terrible maybe you should do it as a bluff more often |

Rasie flop, bet turn shove river if he views you as a stupid nit (hint: He does if you play like this), flat flop raise turn shove river if he thinks you're full of it and floaty. Shove river as played but it really looks like a bd flush or something so you should raise earlier before scary cards hit. |

If I raise at any point in the hand I turn my hand face up, which is why I bluff dry boards so much and never get paid off when I have sets if I fast play them. He has less than pot-sized bet left on the river and it's just a question of whether or not he has enough backdoor draws in his range to warrant just flatting, and I don't think it was too likely based on his preflop stats so I guess it was shove :/. I think he's a decent enough reg to know I'm never bluff-raising the river and he's beat but can't lay it down just because of the odds.
And Dusty by the river I think my hand looks most likely like KQ/KJ, TT, A9cc, 9Tcc, or a set and combinatorically (is that a word?) KQ/KJ/TT is much more likely, and when I raise on flop my hand looks like 22/99 or complete air and I've been in line so he won't think I'm bluffing, if I raise the turn it looks like set or 98.
edit: all the above is my view for most regs NL100/NL200, I don't think ppl are leveling each other on dry boards as much as mid-high stakes yet. |
