sigh, one of the reasons why i liked ps so much, was b/c people didnt play with junk usually :[

No offense, but it's because of people like you (with that retarded turn play) that I play suited low cards.

Dont call off your stack with top pair 2nd kicker, unless you have a solid read.

He wasn't even the preflop raiser...

woah dude

slow down on the turn, he bet 54 into a pot of like 30

although it's pretty hard to get away from AQ there

edit: oops i thought you were the preflop raiser. yeah i wouldn't think AQ would be good there.

lumberjack,
i will always see these flops with "junk" hands for $6 or $8 if i know i can get my opponent's entire stack when i hit

thought his overbet, meant he didnt want to get called, and protect his A with medium kicker. Besides, who calls preflop 4xBB raise with a 3 in their hand? So, my thoughts were, A medium kicker or PP and tried to bluff off the A with medium kicker.

edit, i guess regardless, i cant call or bet without the trips +

from looking at the hand, i put him on A7 or a 3. people usually don't overbet that much just to bluff, especially at these limits. A7 was more likely, but that had you beat too.

uh, you played this hand terribly. with a paired board, players are very careful and rarely call/bet unless they have a piece of it. when he called your 2$ you should have slowed down and either put him on an ace or, if worse, a 3.

then theres your play on the turn ... that turn overbet is just the most donkey/turkey/fish (insert random animal here) play ive ever seen. you have to ask urself if he called on the flop, am i going to get him to fold when that blank hit? sure you can continue to value bet if u are confident he doesnt have AK/A7/x3, but that overbet achieves nothing and you are pretty much throwing your money away.

ps. raise the flop for more information. i dont see any point of the cold call of a minbet there. you MUST raise here.

Are you starting at $200 NL or did you work up a bankroll for it?

You played this hand absolutely horribly....

You flat called a 2 dollar bet on the flop, basically inviting him to boat up against you if he has an under pair, split the pot w/ you if he has a weaker ace, flush up if he has clubs, etc....

Re-raise flop about 6-8, gauge his reaction. After that, use your reads.

edit: tontonba covered it all!

you probably had no read on him, ill assume no read

call preflop is fine. may want to reraise sometimes with position shorthanded, but calling is a good play.

flop, make it 16. if he calls, be very wary of a 3. his complete underbet on the flop is a tell, either a weak ace or a 3. if he calls, slow down or shutdown.
