he thinks your bluffin flop.
he realizes your not bluffin on turn but realizes hes got odds to call your bet.
He further realizes hes got great implied odds to trick you if a flush comes out.
he hits his flush and takes advantage of those implied odds..
he won money off of you. |

lol are u retarded too? how the fuck can u think he has odds to call on turn??
and if u like to trust people that their runner runner flushes, do so, but dont make me do this. of course his bet was suspicious to me, but 1) this guy is real maniac (+retard) and 2) he may have got a decent hand like 2 pair himself and valuebetting it knowing that i might check behind due to the scare card.

Winning cards for him are 8 spades (didnt even include Qs) + 3 tens.
11 of 44 cards remaining.
Chance of him winning = 25%
1 in 4 times he will win 21$. (not including pot odds yet)
If he calls that 6$ bet 4 times, he will be -18$ for the 3 times the flush / straight doesnt hit, and +15$ the one time it does hit. (i already subtracted the 6$ he puts to call)
So hes - 3$ every 4 times this situation arises if he calls you over a billion trials.
Your right, he didnt have pot odds to call.
Now assume he knows you will call at least 3$ on the river, going into a 21$ pot.
He breaks even if he can get you to call a 3$ on the river every single time.
Now assume he thinks 3$ is too weak. He thinks 9$ is a good river bet. Then he breaks even if he can get you to call a 9$ bet on river one in every 3 times that the flush falls.
Now assume he's really really greedy but also really smart. If he bets 20$, all he needs is for you to call that at least once every 6.67 times to break even.
So, no he doesnt have pot odds to call. But if he can get you to say ''god dam it you have the flush, let me see it for 3$," every time, he breaks even. And if he can get you to say "god dammit he has the flush let me see it for 9$," 1 in 3 times, he breaks even. He makes moeny if you call more than once every 3 times.
And as for the 20$ bet, he makes money every time you call it more than once every 6.67 times.
You called it once.
If my math isnt exact, its pretty much correct.
Just work it out yourself to see what odds you were givin him
6$ / 21$ pot = 28.57% required chance to win to break even (not includin implied odds)
11 cards / 44 cards = 25% chance to win
so yea, he had implied odds and you werent really givin him bad odds to call at all. |
