Your 3bet size is a bit awkward, although I'm not sure if it's necessarily bad. If you don't feel comfortable making it a full sized re-raise, it's perfectly alright to flat this hand in position.
I think when you cbet on this board you can make it smaller; something like 50-60% pot is fine. River might be a valuebet but depends on your read of him I guess.
Hm.. Off-suite socks..

Thanks man.. much appreciated. Typically I 3Bet 2.5x whatever the open is...not sure where I got that from, and I usually do it with whatever my hand is - so I was actually very comfortable w/ AJs here. So you recommend 3x?
Yeah typicaly I do cBet lower - here we had some history - overall I was playing tight (tighter than normal and I believe he felt I was weak) and I think he was making some aggressive plays in response. Here, I felt like the flop missed him, and also I thought he was opening rather wide so my plan was to rep AA/KK or such and play it the same way basically - then see how he reacted. OC I was happy w/ the J and I was pretty certain I was ahead there and at that point opted more for valuebetting.

Well the standard is certainly more like 3x in position, but I could definitely see 2.5x working. It's just more unusual, I honestly don't know how good or bad it is.
