How did you absorb a 10 buyin downswing without having to move down? Didnt you only recently start $100NL? |

immediate downswing is probably normal for the average player, the huge pots impair your decision making
its hard to move up and succeed immediately |

Yeah I think so, Im more afraid to play agressive and tend to play more weak/tight.
Also the downwing seems larger. $500 when youve been playign $50NL for the past month seems pretty massive. |

I lost 3 buyins, all on set over sets, when I moved up to 100NL last week. Since then, I've dropped back down to 50NL, not because I think I'm overmatched, but just to have a little more in the bankroll, to right the ship, and to get back some confidence. I found that after I was down $300, I was calling in spots where I should be raising, etc. because I was tentative. Once I get back over 3K, I'll move back up. Bankroll is so important for this very reason, to be able to weather the bad times, which happen to every poker player. |

i think the biggest difference between 50nl and 100nl is you simply get paid less often on your good hands
AA vs AK when a K flops is auto stack someone on 50nl, same for set vs overpair, but those situations are less guaranteed $$ in 100nl
you have to mine every little edge for as much money you can get, dont play scared |

Theres more Agressive players that actually have some idea what they're doing too at 100NL, you get pushed around a little more, and they're harder to catch. |

The play is definitely more aggressive, but it's still pretty awful. If you raise preflop, you'll get called by people with any two cards, and you'll usually get called by 2-4 people. That makes it tough sometimes. It is harder to stack people, but in the long run, you win money if you raise with A-A and get called by K-4. |
