Like when you are very aggro and 3bet 9%+ and shoving like 5% range 4bet call is the correct play, with saying the more PPs you have the wider your 3betting range has to be.

You having an overpair wouldn't make his play bad.

lol he should have 4bet shoved if he thought you were full of shit

I know what you mean lemon, but my 3bet/5bet isn't really that out of line where this is a good idea vs me. I mean I am playing fairly standard and the one time I 5b bluff shove he decides 55 is good for a call, just never seems to happen when I happen to actually have the bigger pair

this is better imo, otherwise you'd be really imbalanced.

yeah, he has to call the 5bet if he 4 bets 55 which makes 4 bet shoving better.

joLin   United States. Feb 17 2010 04:59. Posts 3818

no it doesnt, bcuz then youll have both a 4betting and 4bet shoving range.

assuming our stack is going in either way if we 4bet this, why would we make ourselves unbalanced by 4betting to different sizes?

hmm i'd say balance isn't much of an issue if the 3bettor is just straight up going out of line imo. he's going to fold a ton with hands that have 30-45% against us like Ax 86s or KQo, which he might shove if we 4bet to 25-30bbs. if you're really that worried about balance i guess you could 4bet shove AK sometimes too. that way villain can't really do shit with hands like KQo and prob quit 3betting such hands in position eventually. although, i'd only do this against the most active, batshit aggro in position 3bettors.

i do just 4bet normally most of the time though... and fold 55 most of the time =D
