You're thinking about this sorta backwards. There are rarely rules in poker that you should follow 100% of the time. Calling SCs in spots like this depends upon a number of factors...one of the most important being how often your opponent 3-bets OOP, how well your opponent plays OOP in 3-bet pots, how your opponent perceives you, what your recent history is, etc. Calling suited connectors also helps balance your 3-bet calling range. Basically, though, you need to have compelling reasons that *make sense to you* for taking a given action. |
