villain is pretty unknown over 35 hands is running at 26/18/43% steal. he hasn't really played many post flop pots that I've noticed and I'm not sure how he got the extra 30 bucks in his stack

2 orbits ago I 3bet him in a similar spot and he folded, this time he calls

i decided to cbet this flop because I think its probably a fine flop to cbet

I turn a queen and I figure my hand should be good frequently and his hand looks a lot like a mid pocket pair and sometimes a king like KQ or KJ I guess AK

so I valuebet small 2 streets to try and get value from worse pairs, most of which are pocket pairs in his range, and maybe the rare ace high if he has AJ or something

is this a well played hand?

yeah who calls with AQ or something on the flop

The only hands a nit balances in his range are the nuts, the second nuts, and the third nuts.

edit: also, I don't know what standard theory is, but I hate 3betting the JQ. It's a great hand for 4bet bluffing though.
