very standard spot, villain is unknown, I'm curious to know if leading turn is better though as a general thing? I ask because I'm not sure if people are barreling whatever draws they might have on the turn when the board is Ahi and the turn is a brickball

I don't think either will make much difference, lean towards a bet vs. passive players and c-c vs. an opponent who's more likely to fire a second barrel.

dont lead here without a good reason, which vs an unknown you obv dont have. Leading a hand of this strength here will get you outplayed on the turn or river a lot.

I don't like a c/r since when we get called we have no clue where we're at. I would just bet bet bet this river, probably c/c a blank riv and c/c or c/f on a spade depending on your read on him.

The good reason here is that c/c sucks because we get in a shittier spot on the turn, c/r sucks because we have no clue where we're at and we don't know if he might 3bet draws (and we can't call a ship here), so leading is a good option since it allows us to take control of the hand, get value on his draws, have initiative and if we get raised we can get away from the hand easily.

I wouldnt c/r the flop with a hand like this because again we are against an unknown, its much better to call down and see if he barrels where he gives up etc if you raise and he folds it doesnt tell you much and when you get it in you will be behind the vast majority of the time, take a hand like QT with a spade if you want to test his reaction to a c/r but not this one.

Leading the flop is sort of a different story, I dont have a huge problem with it even tho I wouldnt do it a standard but night asked about leading the turn.

cmon the guy isnt even fullstacked, very doubtful hes a reg. so you guys are saying you'd c/c with 99 or 88 here just to see what he's barreling? lets be real here.

to answer your question night, i'm honestly just c/ring the flop and shipping against a 3bet

thanks guys

I will try to be more aggressive in this spot vs fishy looking players/stacks, AJ just looks too weak to be trying to make a pot here at first glance but I will give it a chance !

I will probably play it like I did vs more reggish or tight looking guys from what I gather from the comments
