ah yeah my reasoning was that he prolly has a weak hand he likes which would fold to me raise but yeah it could be a draws in his range

You want value, but if he's a true 42/0 just pick away at him. He'll make terrible calls and just let you bleed him out, your goals vs a player like this should be small pots and a lot of them and just bleed him dry unless you have the nuts.
