cbetting flop is 100% standard and should be done: you want to get as much money in the pot when you have the most equity. And if villain set mines to 3 bets as a standard. c betting almost all boards is incrediblly +ev as you can just move him off his stupid 33 on a T82 board anyway in future spots.

thanks

after posting I thought about it a sec and realized that cbetting is going to be best, with the plan to shove any turn. Well, my only question remaining might be should I jam turns that pair the board?

really depends on what you think his range is in this spot.

wat

check-shoving flop is almost certainly best. you do want to get the most money in while you have the most equity, so therefore you need to accomplish two things:

1. get your opponent to put in money with the widest possible range
2. make sure you get allin on flop (since there's so much money out already)

if you check the flop, sometimes your opponent will just bluff, or he'll bet a hand that wouldn't have continued when you cbet. so that accomplishes #1
also, when you check the flop, you ensure that you get to shove and get ALL the money in. that accomplishes #2

cbetting fails in both regards, forcing you to have more money behind on turns AND forcing your opponent to put money in with a tighter range than he would when you check.

definitely check-shove. and if he checks behind, then he likely has pretty much nothing and you can safely bet tons of turns and take it down no problem

there is a minor exception. if you check this flop and you think your opponent ONLY bets with a very strong range, then check/call is best

That's a cool idea, so wats your plan if opponent checks behind hands like 55 on this board? lead turn? or check/fold or call clean turn depending on sizing?

also: wouldn't thinking opponents really own us here if we check? Hard to really represent anything taking a c/r line in spots like these.

of course we could balance check shove with tp+ but the problem is that 99% of players are fish that will put us on AK AQ. And if they check any low pair behind, theyre not folding it on any safe turn and river.
