I know I should know how to calculate this myself so I'm sorry for asking. But, I also am wondering about "reads" and stuff too so here it goes...

Villain is 20/7/30Afq over 87 hands. So obviously passive. He also gets to showdown 35% of the time, 6 times in the 17 hands he's played. When he c/r me on the turn I think his hand is pretty strong and he will stack off alot of rivers if I hit the heart.

After he c/r he has $20.35 behind... thoughts?

Cliffs: passive guy who shows down a high%, do I have implied odds to call?
EDIT: And am on point assuming that he stacks here alot/must be strong? Or am I misinterpreting my HUD

implied odds are hard to estimate
i'd only use them as an excuse to chase when it's already close

weird line from villain too... is he trying to checkraise both flop and turn or is he just happy about the turn?

Not a weird line at all, board is so dry and a delayed check raise is very nice especially if you have a set here. You aren't trying to win a $5 pot by betting turn then river with a set, you want da moniez.

Yeah, I realize against a set (which is probably what he has) I am drawing slim, have to lay down if the board pairs. Generally not the best spot.

Betting turn to try and take it down is fine?

why do you not cb flop here?

vasoline73   United States. Sep 29 2010 05:34. Posts 810

Good question. I probably should have with no showdown value, equity, overs, etc. I guess I felt like he didn't fold anything on this board and it was fine to see what the turn brought. On the turn I pick up the draw and I figure he is weak checking twice?

Bad reasoning? Good reasoning?

I like your line up to the turn call
flop is the kind of board that people fold less on
on turn it looks like you can just pick it up and if you get called at least your money goes in with some equity

i think cbetting flop is ok too. with 2 overs and backdoor fd you have 16 turns to barrel for value/semibluff.
