UTG is a 14/12 reg. This might be a side effect of wobbly's 77 hand, but I REALLY really want to check back turn here and call off a river bet (or check back). If he's bluffing, he's folding to another bet anyways. If he has a draw, I might as well let him get there. AA still beats me, and AJ now beats me. 22 probably isn't in his range. If he randomly decided to do this with AK, I feel like he would bet turn. What do you think?

whats your reasoning on calling the flop?

I beat shit like AJ and keep his bluffs in, plus he might not just get it in on the flop with a draw.

im gonna have to disagree. if he takes this line with AJ why would he fold it to a rr? and how do you want to get the money in vs a draw when he bricks the turn, and again if he takes this line he is likely to have a FD+gutter that he will get in on the flop.
i dont know it seems like you are throwing away a perfectly good chance to get the stacks in super ahead or at least get more money in by the turn so that there is more of a chance for all his stack to go in one way or the other.

i mean it would be a different story if the stacks were shallower and there was a psb or a bit more on the turn but with stacks as they are you need to get another bet in on the flop to set up and stack him imo

True, but I figured he would keep betting with AJ or a draw (since he already played it so aggressively). My plan was to jam over his turn bet if it bricked.

Also, honestly the only draw he can really have here is KQcc, so I'm not too worried about that. I just felt like the money was going in anyways with AJ, and that I could get more value out of his stone cold bluffs this way.

yeah agreed with evilsky if he's gunna c/r the flop why would he fold AJ to a 3bet?
chances are he's more willing to get in his broadway flush draws on flop than on the turn, and if the turn comes a club and he does happen to have AJ then u just lose value

no one at FR really c/r bluffs as the preflop raiser from UTG on this board anyway, so id just ship it on flop and hope to cooler him

Yeah, I never said I would fold out AJ if I reraised, I just felt like this line would get the most value out of hands he could be doing this with. I didn't think about a third club scaring him off, I guess. However, I do think that if he for some reason decided to play AK this way, he may fold to a reraise.

As played, is there any value in betting turn/river?

well i think it'd make sense to flat on AJ2r, but not this board.
as played it's kinda weird as most "good" regs aren't putting more money in the pot unless they have AJ
22 is prob slowing down now as well.
i think there are arguments for betting turn/checking back riv, or checking back turn and betting riv when checked to
