hmm decided to mix it in because I feel like when I cbet here I look like I have the nizzles everytime.. my hand isn't in a ton of danger (Beyond if he already flopped trips lawl) so I figured I could check flop and pot turn+river all in with a significantly more disguised hand
might not be the best idea ever dunno |

this is just a terrible play and a prime example of leveling yourself and refusing to make an obvious read, which you set yourself up to do by checking the flop in the first place
there is no point in checking the flop if you're gonna play the turn this way. you would only check the flop if you expected that you'd either (a) convince him to overvalue a moderate pair, or (b) convince him to bluff the turn. raising the turn does not compute with either of those possibilities. |

you don't think he stacks off with a wider range on the turn than flop ? giving him another card can give him a lot more pair+draw type hands (that's why I raise instead of call call). In his spot do you expect me to have a strong hand? |

it's a 3bet pot 100bb deep, if he's stacking off on the turn, he would have stacked off on the flop. FD/Overpair/any slight combo draw are all the nuts here for him. What hands do you think don't stack off on the flop but would stack off on the turn? KcXc that he somehow has like KQcc, that's gonna stick it on the flop just as often as he will on the turn if he hits a pair, but also it won't stack off anymore if it completely blanks the turn, so you lose value by not getting him to stick it in on the flop. |

I think people are folding a lot of overpairs on this flop like 77, 99, TT, JJ. And some other junk. I'll have to stove it and see.
I don't understand how my hand looks strong on the turn compared to cbetting this flop.
I don't think I have seen any overpair below QQ stack off in this spot on the flop either

ehh. i'd like this play a lot more if you had Ac as well. jamming the turn when villain likely has picked up a TON of more equity vs you isn't smart imo. But then in that case you'll be wanting to flat turn to let him own himself on the river.
this hand is pretty gay but also played quite poorly. |

not even close, nobody has ever folded an overpair on any board in any situation in the history of the universe (that's almost true)
and if you check flop, it's to set up a call turn/call river line, not a raise turn / stack off vs obvious monster line |

I looked through my last 50k hands and no one except massive fish have gotten it in with worse than QQ on the flop in this spot, not one.. but ok |
