I like folding preflop.
But as played, I think you played that fine. When villain checks flop, he likely doesn't have overpairs imo. So if he has AQ/AK, he really has like 3 outs to those because you also have an ace on your hand. Meaning, your hand is pretty damn invulnerable to villain's range at this point. Checking back flop is cool because of that, and also you don't wanna get blown off of the hand if villain does checkraise.
On turn, I think your bet is fine, and villain's call is probably fine. Because if he holds AK, he holds the nut air, so he may try to hero call a street or two at this point. The river check is also fine imo, because AQ is in his range.
It's just too bad that Q landed on river, otherwise, I think your hand is good almost always. |
