You have to barrel this flop, or check is fine as long as you don't plan to c/f turn and don't cbet your overs systematically in 3b pots

Odds are exactly 50%: it either happens or not

just shove preflop?

I don't know how much I'm inclined to barrel if this guy is capable of flatting pre in these spots. I think there's a good chance that the villain would never fold a pair there and I don't want to end up getting the stacks in (when we are slightly deep) then have him own me with some pockets. And then I pat myself on the back saying, "oh that's fine, good for balancing purposes".

Jamming pre is definitely a possibility. I mean, if anything.. I want them to call ofc... I just want to hit when I got AK A_A

calling 4bet seems to be a new trend, even for casual players. When I suspect villain is a retard of that kind I just jam AK

Then why 4b AK PF if you're not willing to stack off on such board in the first place ? 2 times out of 3 you'll miss and i don't see how 4betting then c/f can be profitable, your hand still has some equity and he'll fold a good portion of his range... Balance this play with your overs.

While I see your point, I don't think it's profitable to barrel at that moment, against that villain, on that board. But maybe you are right, I'll never know since I didn't barrel ._.
