I like to avoid betting low boards like this because I have little equity when he calls.
So I like checking behind and delay cnetting on the turn if he checks again. My line is congruent to a pocket pair that is playing for pot control or a hand that improves with the turn card. If I bet the turn and get called I'm done with the hand unless I improve.
Do you agree with this?
Now the turn sucks because I can just rep a pocket pair, so...just give up?
Would you bet J-K rivers when checked to again?

the first paragraph is a citation from Poker Blueprint, he talks about hands like 86s on 552, so Q9 is slightly better as we get decent TPs when we hit

Fuck balancing and just bet because your hand has no showdown value, and it's much likely that villain doesn't either. And if you get called, just give up unless you think you can profitably fire a second barrel. |

what sort of pocket pair do you check back on 552r? I think with this line you only rep a hand that improved on the turn if you fire. Every card is gonna be an overcard why would you start betting your pair on the turn? |

Yeah I was wondering that too, I bet every pair on this flop including 33-55. If it's high it's for value if it's low it's for protection as we hate all turns right?
I agree the repping pocket pair is a long shot and I should just check it down once I check the flop on this card and bet just T-A right?(he called me with KJ high when I bet $1 on the turn.
I want my $1 refunded from Slowhabit ;P) |

You bet with pairs either for value or for protection against two overs that still has 1/4 equity on you, yes. |

agree, at nl25 I never checked back unless I intended to give up vs a calling station with a hand that could never be the best. I.e
45s on a 9TJ board or smth. |
