That's the point, when villain bets there, he's likely betting with good ranges of hands that beats hero's hand. So hero can't really profitably call there, so he decided to turn his hand into a bluff because his line is still in line with flush. And hero knows that villain doesn't have the flush since he didn't bet the turn in position, and would've likely barreled harder on river with a hand better than a pair. |
